The bridal preparation in pictures – a quiet start full of emotion
Your wedding day doesn't begin with the vows—it begins much earlier. At dawn. In a hotel room. In your parents' house. In a quiet suite above the city rooftops or in a rustic finca on Mallorca.
Getting ready isn't "just" preparing for the wedding ceremony. It's a moment in itself. Full of emotion, anticipation, intimacy—and often a little nervousness, too.
As a wedding photographer, getting ready is one of the most personal and powerful moments of the entire day for me.
More than hair & makeup:
Why Getting Ready Photos Are So Special

What at first glance looks like styling is in reality much more:
The last hug with your best friend.
The look in the mirror when you see yourself as a bride for the first time.
The trembling in your maid of honor's hands as she helps you close your dress.
The first light that falls through the window – soft and golden.
These moments are pure, real, and unposedly beautiful . And that's exactly what makes getting ready photos so emotional—they show not just how you looked, but how you felt.
The magic of silence: a counterpoint to the hustle and bustle of the day
The wedding day often rushes by quickly – full of impressions, emotions, and encounters. Getting ready is like pausing before it all.
A space just for you—or for both of you, if you're preparing together. Here, images full of depth are created without you even noticing. No poses, no pressure. Just closeness, light, and small gestures that will mean so much later. Because they'll remind you every time how you felt.
Tips for an unforgettable getting ready (and perfect photos)
As a photographer who accompanies weddings with an artistic and emotional eye, I have collected a few tips to make your getting ready as special as it should be:
Choose an aesthetic room with natural light
Bright windows, calm colors, and few distractions—this is the best setting for natural photos. If you're staying in a hotel, feel free to ask explicitly. Many hotels offer a dedicated room (sometimes even a suite) for getting ready.
Have details that are important to you ready.
Invitation, perfume, jewelry, veil, handwriting – these things tell your story.
Give yourself time – consciously plan enough space.
Rushing kills emotion. Leave room for depth.
Who is with you?
Consider carefully who will accompany you while you get ready. Intimacy thrives on familiarity. And the comfort factor often determines how you feel throughout the entire day.
Enjoy the moment – forget the camera
My goal is for you to let go. I'll accompany you discreetly – the most beautiful images are created when you're completely at peace with yourself.
My view as a photographer
For me, getting ready is the poetic beginning of your wedding story . As a photographer, I don't see it as a "side issue" but rather as a world of its own – full of small, quiet stories that later become the most emotional memories .
Whether you're getting married in a historic suite in Florence, on a mountain pasture in the Tyrolean mountains, in a modern city hotel, or in the garden of your parents' house - I love capturing this first hour of your day in pictures that will last forever.
Conclusion
Getting ready is much more than preparation—it's the first act of your story . And every detail counts. If you choose to include this moment in your reportage, you'll give yourself something priceless:
Memories of feelings that are often forgotten later.
